Ice Skating Lessons...

My girls started Ice Skating lessons and so far they love it! It has been so fun to watch them get better each week!

Bunko Weekend...

We decided for Bunko this month we would make a weekend of it and head down to St. George...

Erin drove Sarah, Janae and I and we headed down Thursday night...

We made a few Diet Coke stops, but this gas station didn't have Diet Coke...Seriously!

Friday morning Erin, Quela, Sarah, Janae and I went Mountain Biking. We rode Bear Claw Poppy and it was so much fun! We had to stop at the bike shop first...

Playing Bunko...we didn't want to drag all the tables and chairs down to St. George so we played on the floor! I was so happy, I won the travel prize and won some new Victoria Secret Boyfriend Pants...my favorite thing!

After bunko, we headed to Whitney's in-law's house for a little hot tubing...

Saturday morning we decided to go running, before...

After we ran 5 miles in the pouring rain, it was a blast!

As a kid I loved building forts with my best friend Melissa. Now I love to build them for my kids, and they have so much fun in them! They can spend hours in there just playing house or watching a movie on the laptop! Its a wonderful time filler :) I must say that this was one of my best forts to date!!

We took the kids to our favorite swimming place. We had such a fun time, the girls loved the water slide and kept going down by themselves! Corbin was a big pansy and was scared to death of the slide. They are at such a fun age, I love it! I tried to take pictures, but it was so humid in there, they are a little foggy. I was able to get some good shots during a pool break!

Seriously a Mountain Bike ride January 6th?? We had such a great ride! I have been missing it and makes me excited for the Spring, Summer and Fall!! The next day we finally got snow, but at least we got a great ride in. Thanks ladies!!

We headed down to Ephraim to visit Grandma Carol. We always love to go down and spend time with her. We heard there was actually snow there so we decided to pack up for the day and go sledding in Ephraim Canyon. Since our kids are so little we figured it would be safer to pull them behind the truck rather than let them go down the canyon road. We had so much fun and we can't wait to go back!!

Aslan never likes to be left out so of course she had to sled with us!! When she wasn't riding with Doug and Corbin she was running up the canyon behind the truck!

The kids wanted to go on "A Snow Adventure" as Sophie liked to call it, so we headed out to explore...

Christmas Morning...

I love Christmas Morning, maybe as much or more than the kids! It is always so fun to see their faces light up when they find out that Santa really came and brought them presents! They were at such a fun age and it was one of the best Christmas mornings that I have ever had!

Christmas Eve, we left Santa cookies and milk and some carrots for the reindeer!

So we had to have him hurry and open it so he would be happy!

Christmas Eve with The Nielsen's...

After my mom's party we headed over to our 3rd Christmas party at the Nielsen's. We had more food, more games, more presents and more fun!! The kids did the Nativity dressed in their new costumes from Grandma Anne (we couldn't get them to take them off)! We sand songs, Santa dropped off a few gifts and we played our big $ game!! Doug and I thought we would for sure have the advantage this year because we had 5 people playing from our family...but of course it didn't work out that way! We got the $14, Dani and Chase won $27, and Conner and Marielle won $28! Maybe next year!!

Our 2nd Christmas Party was at my Mom's house on Christmas Eve. We played games, had dinner and opened presents!

The other day we went to Jungle Jim's with Danielle and Scarlet. It was my first time ever going there, ever...even as a kid! the kids loved it. It was a little expensive and kinda ghetto but overall we had a fabulous time! We love having Chase, Dani, and Scarlet here for Christmas, it has been so fun for our kids to get to hang out and play!

The next night was our 9th anniversary so Craig and Jerrie took our kids home for a sleepover and Doug and I stayed an extra night at the Marriott. We had a great night downtown, we rode Trax to Gateway, did some shopping, had dinner and spent time walking around! It was a wonderful weekend!

We stayed at the Marriott at the Gallivan Center, so this was just right out the door!

A Night Away...

We went with the Nielsen Family downtown for the night! We met down there and we went to Little America for a delicious dinner. Then we jumped on Trax and headed to see the lights at Temple Square, it was cold but it is always so fun to see! Then we headed to the Marriott where we all stayed overnight! In the morning we got up and had a yummy breakfast, and went to see the Muppets...which was so funny! Thank you so much Craig and Jerrie for such a fun, memorable weekend!!

We got back to the Hotel and Scarlet had sacked out! Sophie was pretty close, but she opened her eyes when I decided to take the picture.

So on Sunday we took a drive up the canyon to see the leaves before we headed home to watch Conference. On our way down we decided to stop and take a little hike to see a waterfall. The kids were all in their pj's but it was a short and easy walk, and they loved it!

We took a quick trip down to Ephraim to visit Grandma Carol. We had such a great time! Saturday morning Corbin went to the farm with Craig and Sophie went with Grandma Carol to open up the Malt Shop. So Doug, Ava and I went to pick Sophie up and grab a Diet Coke, then head down to the farm!

We went to Lake Powell with some friends, without kids and let me tell you it was HEAVEN! We had amazing weather and it was such a relaxing trip. We went with our friends Talmage and Heather, Tal's parents Rob and Liz, and their friends Bob and Marie. It really felt like we were kids again because Rob got all the food and cooked all the meals. I seriously hope we get invited to go again because we loved every minute of it as you'll be able to tell from my million pictures!!

A Day Out...

We were bored one day so we decided to run up to the zoo! It was totally last minute but my kids had such a fun time! We saw the animals, rode the carousel and the train and even ate some pizza. I love being able to spend time like that with my kiddos, they are going to be off to school before I know it so I need to enjoy this time while I can...

Sophie was born 4 years ago on September 25th! It was one of the happiest days of my life! I was so grateful that we finally got both of our girls and we would be a family! Sophie brings so much joy and happiness into our lives and we are so grateful to be her parents!

We went to the Circus to celebrate Sophie's birthday but when she woke up on the 25th this is what she found...

All Sophie wanted for her birthday was to go to the Circus! So that is exactly what we did. We took the 3 kids downtown, we ate at California Pizza Kitchen and then headed to the Circus. We had such a fun night and the kids loved it!

Once inside we pulled out our glow sticks that I bought for a dollar at Target...saved me a ton a money since they sell them for like $20 at the Circus!

Bear Lake Trip #2...

We went back to Bear Lake the next weekend but this time with the Burt family. We had a wonderful time, we had great weather and we were lucky enough to stay at a friends cabin! We spent time at the beach...

Ava was born 4 years ago on August 21st. I love when her birthday comes around because it reminds of when I first became a mother. Ava's birth story was and will always be one of the most amazing experiences in my life. I am forever grateful to her birth mother for choosing Doug and I to be her parents, we love you sweet Ava more than you could ever imagine!!

We did celebrate Ava's birthday on the boat but her real birthday was on a Sunday. When the kids woke up they each had a little present and then Ava got to open all her presents...

The girls took 2 sessions of swim lessons this summer and they loved it! I was really surprised how much they learned and how much better they got at swimming! They were so lucky to be able to be in the same class as their best buddies, Owen and Ammon!

The last day of class they got to jump off the diving board and go down the water slide! They were in heaven!

DAY 8: FRIDAY
Our last day in Newport, it always comes so fast! We got up and we rode our bikes to the Stuft Surfer for breakfast. It is such a fun place to go and eat breakfast on the beach!

Then we headed to the beach for one last day...

DAY 6: WEDNESDAY
Today was an interesting day to say the least. About half the group went to Disneyland, Conner and Marielle headed home and Craig had to go to the ER because he thought he was having a heart attack. Luckily, he was okay and he joined us on the beach later that day. So it was just us and Conner and Marielle for a few hours. We dug holes which is the best form of entertainment on a beach and we just played...

We were all so worried about Grandpa, Sophie sat on his lap to give him some love.

We rode our bikes down to see the waves at the Wedge, they are usually very big and cool to see but we went at low tide so not much to look at...

DAY 2: SATURDAY
Ask any of the Nielsen's and they will tell you that Saturday in Newport is a little crazy! We are grocery shopping, unpacking, renting bikes and just getting all settled in! Doug likes to avoid the madness and head to the beach, so I sent all the kids with him while I took care of the rest. Grandma Jerrie got a few cute pictures...

Our annual trip to Newport Beach was so amazing! We had a week full of fun on the beach and all sorts of activities in between! Over the next week or so I will post a days worth of excitement! Our kids LOVED the beach and were so much fun!

We left early Friday morning and headed to California. We slept in Costa Mesa and headed out to the Huntington Pier to show the kids and to go eat at our favorite taco place Wahoo's...

They made a float that resembled the house from the movie Up and each ward was assigned a different value and color. So we were green and represented kindness. All the kids had a green t-shirt, bracelet, and balloon. We walked down 5th south downtown for a few blocks. The kids had a great time...only bummer was that we had to wait and wait and wait for the parade to start so the kids were a little wild! They Love To Swim...

The kids and I love to go swimming at Erin's house! They have taken swim lessons and are getting so much better in the water. It is the first year that I have felt totally comfortable taking them all to the pool alone. They can play in the deep end with their floaties/life jackets. Ava has started jumping and she thinks she is super cool! All in all we love to swim and it has been a nice distraction for the summer!

Bear Lake Baby...

So we convinced Doug's parents to break tradition this year and go to Bear Lake instead of Ephraim for the 4th of July. We had so much fun up there, but I know it could never take the place of the Ephraim mountains. We took the boat and got ourselves a few campsites and had a wonderful weekend! Here are a few, okay a ton of the highlights...

When we got there all the adults were setting up camp so the kids entertained themselves with chips:

The water was so high at Bear Lake this year that the beach was so small compared to how it normally is, but the kids still managed to find stuff to do!

Everyone got a chance to wake-board, I even got up and wake-boarded one handed, I was impressed with myself :) Even the girls got a chance to ski!
